I was obsessed with crafting what hadn't been imagined yet — pushing boundaries and exploring possibilities that others might have dismissed as impractical or too ambitious.
Together, we had two mindsets with one goal: create something meaningful. From academic projects to competitions and hackathons, we were always the duo chasing ideas that felt alive.
And it all began with a spark — in a dusty cyber café — with a controller in one hand and a dream in the other.
Building the Founding Team
Since we were just two minds starting the project of life — launching a company — we knew we'd need more support to handle different sectors of this journey. After all, trying to build something ambitious while still studying in college? It's not just tough… it's really tough.
So we turned to our network. We needed people who shared our long-term vision — and who had strengths we didn't. That's when we brought in Omar El-Gamal.
Omar, our close friend from college, was that one-of-a-kind missing piece. He had what we jokingly call “the golden key of communication” — someone who could talk to anyone, build genuine connections, and had a meme and sticker game that honestly deserves its own portfolio.

More than that, Omar was always close to us during our academic projects. Whenever he had the chance to help, he never hesitated — his support, reliability, and perspective made things smoother, sharper, and way more fun.
Adding Omar brought a sector into focus we hadn't even realized we were missing — outreach. While we were busy crafting and structuring, Omar helped make sure people actually knew who we are and why we exist.
Why the Name Astorlabe?
You might be wondering — why Astorlabe, not Astrolabe? Is it a typo?
Not even close.
The name comes from Arabic: “أسطرلاب” (al-Asturlab) — and we chose to write it the way it sounds in our native tongue. It's our way of blending cultural identity with technological ambition.
But it's not just about the sound — it's about the meaning.
The original astrolabe was a multi-layered tool used by scholars, scientists, and explorers to solve real-world problems — to find direction, understand the stars, and calculate the unknown.
One of its core components was called “العنكبوت” (al-ʿankabūt) — the spider. It connected everything in the device and made precise movement possible.
That's exactly how we see Astorlabe: A modern spider-web of innovation — a شبكة أسطرلاب — carefully branched, tightly connected, and ready to turn every wild idea into a real product.
Some people even call us “Astorlabs” — and we love that. Because Astorlabe isn't just a company — it's a living system. A platform that gives every meaningful idea the space and structure to grow into something powerful.
